Download the TAB for Alacran y Pistolero
This is my favorite song from the Once Upon a Time in Mexico movie soundtrack. I recorded this a few years back and strangely enough it is by far my most viewed video on youtube. 5,000+ views! Google for the lyrics.
And so, two years later, after many viewers literally demanded the tabs and berated me for not providing them… I have succumbed.
The intro is fingerstyle and strumming and here is where you get to use one finger per string. Thumb on the fourth, or top string, index on the third, middle on the second and ring finger on the first or bottom string.
When the singing starts I tabbed it to be one strum per measure but as you see in the video I am strumming the one and three beats. It’s in 3/4 time. You can interpret however you like.

I love this. I only bought a ukulele to take on holiday as I am not too impressed with travel guitars. I have only picked up a guitar once since!
Great teaching!

It would be awesome if you would do a tutorial on this song besides the tab

I second this request! I am a beginner playing a uke and no matter how I tried to reproduce the strum you use throughout the second part of the song (the one with a roll strum) – I could not do it. I would really appreciate if you could make a short tutorial on how to play this strum.
Thank you very much in advance!

Went to Hoopla and checked out the soundtrack of Once Upon a Time in Mexico but there is no track for this song. There is a track called Pistolero, but it’s not this song. Learning it anyway.

The CD is Mexico y Mariachis. The tune was a theme played throughout the movie. Sorry for the confusion. My bad!

After only three months playing this is a great challenge. Getting really close to not sounding nearly as well as you but holy crap this makes me really happy to try and play and it’s better every day. Thanks so much for taking the time to put this together and share the tabs, it’s really appreciated! Also I found a couple other versions but yours is by far the best. So yeah, you’re the man.
Cheers
